Quite a Way to Make an Entrance - Two Estates in Colleyville, Texas

Here's two estates along Westcoat Drive in Colleyville, Texas that both have some pretty grandiose entrances.  First, check out the home on the left, an 8,240 sq. foot Colonial estate appraised at $1.2 million in 2010.  The double gated entry to the estate encompasses a row of uniquely trimmed pushes and landscaping topped off with a fountain at the farther end.  The driveways then open up to a large front motor court.  I can only imagine the picturesque views!  And then there is the home on the right, a 7,410 sq. foot French mansion appraised at $2.1 million also in 2010.  The circle gated entrance with turret gate house is simply a premonition to the elegance that can be found within the gates of the estate.  Oh, how I long to come home in such a manner!  Maybe someday, I will!  What do you think of these entrances?

XTO Energy CEO Keith Hutton's Sprawling Colleyville Estate

Ah, another mansion owned by a big time oil mogul - well, we do live in Texas, an all too common site.  XTO Energy is one of the front runners in today's oil drilling business amassing and selling oil for major profits.  The man who runs it all is Texas A&M (whoop!) graduate Keith Hutton.  Hutton has been with XTO for several years and currently resides as CEO.  Previously owned by Castlegate Homes executive Paul Kramer, the 11,620 sq. foot English inspired mansion is appraised at $3,967,935.  A 4 car garage, separate garage bay, pool, basketball court, tennis court, private lake, gate house, and acreage also accompany this Colleyville estate.  It can be found on White Drive off L.D. Lockett.

A little Louis...

Phew, I'm back! What a very full on last few days but it was great. Now onto the packing..... urgh....

So what's inspiring me to start my packing? Louis Vuitton of course. We know I am a very big fan of a bit of Louis and I love nothing more to see some LV in a house. Now I do need to state that the beautiful pieces created by Louis Vuitton are not designed for "coffee tables" etc, they are actual, useable trunks and should be continued to be used as such where possible.

However I also classify all Louis Vuitton products as works of art, the craftsmanship and detailing is beyond exceptional.

One day, I will have a LV trunk in my house (or maybe a few) !

Renovated Country House

Hello, sweets! I'll do my best to post every day as usual, but our moving day is drawing closer and I still have a gazillion things to do. I go around with my check list and I tick off two items but instantly add another two so it feels like I'm not getting anything done!

So, I have to scuttle away now, and thus I leave you with this renovated house for you to enjoy. Stone, reclaimed beams, Gustavian furniture mixed with modern pieces, for a welcoming home. Notice how the arrangement of two sitting areas and dining room space in the huge living area makes it look cozy.

Country House in Spain

There really isn't much to tell about us moving to Peru, but since some of you asked, here it goes!

I'm from Argentina but I've been living in Brazil for 6 years now. We moved here because of my husband's job and now we're moving to Peru for the same reason. I'm not quite sure how long we'll be living there but it will be between 3 and 5 years and then it will be time to move to another (unknown!) country. I'm surely going to miss Brazil as it's one of the most beautiful places one could wish to live in, the people, the weather, the incredible vegetation, so many things... but we have to move on and I know we'll be happy in Peru, too.

Yes, I know, I am a day late again.  I've been out of town a lot which has messed up my whole schedule!  Regardless, here is this week's late Address to Impress Home of the Week.  Located right across Highway 820 from Montserrat sits La Cantera at Team Ranch, yet another affluent subdivision.  Within the large wooden gates is this home, 8916 Estribo Circle.  The very palatial French residence is situated on 1.00 acre and boasts 7,135 sq. feet of living space.  The home is at the very back of a small circle drive along with 4 other newer homes.  The 1 acre is complete with great curb appeal and an eye-catching home.  Built in 2007, the residence includes 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, an office with fireplace, multi-level media theater, several wall murals, wood features, an outdoor living area, half basketball court, 800 sq. foot pool house, 4 car garage with gated driveway, and more.  The only thing I see wrong with this home is the noise - the home directly backs up to the service road of Highway 820 near Interstate 20.  If you want to grow a family and wouldn't be bothered by the sound of fast moving cars and emergency vehicles, then this home is a perfect match for you!
