Sarah's back!

I have decided to do a weekly blurb on Sarah Richardson's new season of Sarah's House on HGTV.  I have been watching her since the very beginning when she did a show called Room Service.  She was very crafty back then and I remember thinking wow this girl can do a lot with buttons! I have always loved her approach to design and how good she is at mixing pattern and texture. Make sure you check it out. For more about Sarah you can look her up at http://www.sarahricharsondesign.com/

These pictures were from last week of the entry/mudroom/powder room.  I'm not sure if I'm sold on the red closets.  I probably would have played it safe and gone cream!

Work in progress

I have been working on a few rooms in my home for awhile and slowly but surely they are coming along.  Sometimes painfully slow!!!  Anyway, here is a shot of the one wall in my bedroom.  I will post more pictures soon.

My new love

Okay maybe not so new but definitely one of my favorite patterns. Quatrefoil means a representation of a flower with four petals or a leaf with four leaflets. It seems as though interior designer Suzanne Kasler (don't get me started on how much I love her!) also has an appreciation for quatrefoil. Check out Suzanne styling a few rooms on the Ballard Designs website www.ballarddesigns.com. Here are a few of my picks. Enjoy!

Tiger Woods Mom Mansion on Jupiter Island, Florida (Tida Woods Jupiter Mansion)

Tiger Woods is building his Mom a mansion on Jupiter Island. Woods bought two adjacent properties directly across the Intracoastal from his soon-to-be Jupiter Island residence for $2.4 million in 2007. Now, he is building Mommy Tida a mansion that is costing another $2.6 million for construction. Tida Woods, who usually stays out of the spotlight burst onto the media stage Friday with her long embrace for her son after his televised apology. This is some home, wish I could do this for my Mom!

Dwayne Wade's House in Miami, Florida

At 9330 SW 59th Pl, Miami, FL 33156 you will find Miami's favorite baller, Dwayne Wade's House.
The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.

From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.

UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.
