River Oaks Palace - Michael Zilkha's 20,000 Sq. Foot Palatial Houston Residence

Michael Zilkha, co-owner of the energy company Zilkha Biomass Energy, owns this stately palace in the well known River Oaks Country Club area of Houston.  The 20,515 sq. foot stone manse features 17 rooms.  Built in 1999, the residence features a pool with pool house and lavish grounds including gardens and courtyards.

17,000 Sq. Foot Residence Under Construction at 4000 Euclid Ave. in Dallas

Latest images show a large residence going up at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Highland Drive.  The 17,000 sq. foot home was started in 2010 and is currently 25% completed, according to DallasCAD records.  It will be a 5 bedroom/5 bathroom home with 4 fireplaces and 2 wet bars.  The lot is owned by Guinn Crousen of Crousen Holdings, LLC out of Dallas.  Crousen is also the listed owner of 3512 Crescent Ave. also in Dallas; this home, which is within a mile of the Euclid lot, is one of the most beautiful homes in Dallas, per D Magazine.  The home, once completed, is reported to be a total of 17,465 sq. feet.  Here's some aerial images of the home from Google:

French Living in Preston Hollow - 9507 Meadowbrook

First off, I apologize for not publishing much the past month or so.  I have been transitioning into college life here in College Station.  I'm all settled in now, so hopefully I will be able to blog more.

Country House in Buenos Aires

Second post for you today. This country house in Lobos, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Brimming with flea market finds, perhaps a bit over the top but you can see some interesting pieces in every room.

Spanish Style Home in Hollywood

Director John Pasquin and actress JoBeth Williams live in this Spanish-style home on a hillside high above Hollywood. It was built by architect Gerard R. Colcord in 1928. Interior designer Madeline Stuart worked with the couple to make the home of their dreams

Architect Gerard R. Colcord designed the entry's stair railing. A tile at the foot of the stairs bears his signature.

















In the kitchen an 18th-century Portuguese tile mural was installed above the range. Creamy yellow marble countertops, blue-painted cabinets, and a terra-cotta tile floor peppered with blue diamond-shaped tiles define the space.


In the adjoining breakfast room, a hand-painted mural by Jean Horihata was inspired by murals in the Italian Villa of Livia at Prima Porta, near Rome.













Outdoors, John and JoBeth worked with landscape designer Art Luna.
