Financially embattled celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz officially listed her 10,000+square foot townhouse compound in Manhattan's West Village in late 2012 with an asking price of $33 million. By September of 2013 the price had dipped to $29.9 million and, now, after just over a year on the open market, the sprawling urban residence was sold, as was first reported by Luxury Listings NYC, for $28.5 million to an as-yet unidentified buyer whose identity is shielded behind an LLC.
Property records show Miz Leibovitz paid just over $6 million for the ivy-covered compound that comprises three semi-combined townhouses and contains a total of seven bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms plus a pair of self-contained, multi-story guest units. There are also a total of 13 working fireplaces, multiple living rooms and work spaces, a walk-in safe in the cellar, and a private gated garden.
No word on where Miz Leibovitz plans to move although we know she still owns a bucolic, 200-ish acre country spread near Rhinebeck, NY and, although we're not sure she still does, Your Mama knows first hand she used to keep a dark and funky studio loft space on The Bowery well into the current century but we'd be surprised if she moved her family into to such rustic quarters even if it happens to be located in one of The Big Apple's trendiest downtown locales. Anyways...
