French Inspired Home

Before I start with today's tour I must apologize for having been away for quite a long time. There were some matters that needed my attention and I had to set blogging aside for a while. I have only just now read my blog's emails and I'd like to thank those who inquired if I was ok.

I am also way behind visiting other blogs too. I've got a lot of catching up to do!

So, what do you say if we go back to our tours?

Today I'd like to show you this lovely French inspired home. Not many photographs, but quite a number of interesting details, like the scales hanging from the ceiling, the sign above the window, and the patina in the kitchen.

Putting the dream together ...

Ok, so it's finally time I can start share to something with you all.
I just can't reveal everything right now but I promise I will very shortly.

As I mentioned a few weeks back I was going to be heading overseas.
Well sadly that didn't happen, long story but at the end of the day things just change!
So I decided to take the money saved and the time I had to start an idea
I have wanted to do for over a year now.

I am going to start my own business!
It's very exciting for me but has (still is) taking a lot of planning as I want to do this right.

I've always wanted to have my own business for so many reasons but the main reason
to put it simply is to live my life on my terms.
I am under no illusions that it will be easy, I know it's going to be hard and a lot of work.
But I say bring it on, I'm ready!

So I have been spending my days planning, researching, buying, learning, writing,
taking photo's, being creative, putting together financials, emailing, organising, making decisions,
being inspired and most importantly - enjoying way more than I thought I could.

My motto is you never know until you try and there's lot's a different ways to try.

I am bursting at the seams to tell you all in detail as to what I have been working so hard on.
Stay tuned as all shall be shared in the next couple of weeks.

Celebrity Real Estate: Hayden Christensen Lists Studio City Architectural Home

Hot off the presses from the always informative Lauren Beale at LA Times Hot Property comes word of Hayden Christensen's Studio City home for sale at $2,495,000. Mr. Christensen is a Canadian born actor who gained fame with his popular role as "Anakin Skywalker" and later "Darth Vader" in George Lucas' Star Wars Episode II and III (I wonder if Hayden knows that the original ILM studios were started in nearby Van Nuys).

The home measures 5 Bed/5 Baths on 6,302sqft on a total lot size of 0.78 acres built in 1990. This home has a modern-contemporary architectural style which I unfortunately dont know who is the architect.

According to the listing:
Celebrity owned Architectural Modern with 6300 sq ft on 3/4 acre. Linen white gallery walls, sisal carpets & rich walnut floors. Step down liv rm w/ fireplace, high ceilings + French doors open to large private flat yard. Formal dining room, large open gourmet kit/family room w/ fireplace opens to pool and rear yard. 2nd floor family rm w/ fireplace, 3 bdrms all opening to view terraces with spa. Entire 3rd floor lavish master suite with elevator, views, fplce, large bath w/ his/hers areas, elevated tub + double walk in closets. Great outdoor entertainment areas w/ salt water pool, spa, 2 enclosed flat yards , mature trees + oversize 3 car garage.
This home was last purchased on September 22, 2003 for $1,425,000 which the property records indicate was actually purchased by Hayden's brother, Tove Christensen, who is also an actor and film producer. Based on the current asking price if it sold, which has already been reduced by $155,000,  would net Tove a profit of $1,070,000 before taxes, commissions, carrying costs, and any other expenses associated with the property. Not sure where the Christensen brothers are heading off to but maybe they are seeking independence as they get older.

Space of the week ...

How adorable is this workspace.

Still working from home but having that extra (external) space
is such a great idea.

Little rustic but cosy.

Just so sweet.

Catching Up

Apologies I have been M.I.A of late.
I've been in Sydney for work this week.

It's always a really tight schedule when I go but I got to at least spend
one day with a couple of girlfriends, which was so great to catch up with them.

After having yum cha for Sunday lunch we headed down to Bondi to see the
Sculpture By The Sea which was kind of cool and something a bit different.

Maurizio Perron - Paper Boats

Subodh Kerkar - The Chilly  (in the distance)

Paul Trefry - Knot Standing

Cave Urban - Mengenang (Memory)

Rachel Couper & Ivana Kuzmanovska - Mirador

Tae-Guen Yang - I Am So Sorry

Then it was straight into work and work dinners from Monday through to Wednesday,
which fortunately was also very lovely. Oh and just a little bit of shopping sshh ...

So I shared this via my instagram

Over the bridge we go ...

Beautiful dinner at a private home, so lovely and great food

Heading up to  the Gowings Bar and Grill at the QT hotel

My new shoes, too cute and I ♥ them

I have realised though that the 3 hour time difference between Perth and Sydney
is quite challenging for me to jump into 3 days of work, I must be getting old!
