One year ago today, I started this little blog called My First Little Place! What a year it has been. I had no idea when I started this blog where it would take me. To celebrate my first year of blogging, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it.
So why did I start blogging? Well, I bought a house! And with friends interstate and overseas, I wanted to keep them updated on my renovation progress. But then I started to find some really beautiful blogs that really inspired me and 'met' lots of other bloggers who have the same obsession with interiors and pretty things. It also gives me space from my day job, allow me to escape into another world for a little while.
What makes me stalk a blog? Simple, it has to grab me within the first few posts. It has to be interesting for me to look at. I like it best if it has a topic or if it has lots of images and inspirational sayings. What I've found very interesting is when you come across a blog with hundreds of followers, everyone loves it but it just doesn't grab me. I guess that's why there are gazillion blogs out there, something for everyone. And that is why I am unbelievably grateful and full of happiness when people follow my blog or leave me comments. If your blog is on my blog roll, it means I LOVE your blog and it provides me with huge amounts of design (both interiors + fashion) inspiration. And I thank you.
My highlights for my fiirst year as a blogger was when Nicole over at Sketch 42 asked me to guest blog. And I did a series on blogger homes where I asked a number of my fave bloggers to show us inside their own homes (thank you ladies)
My 5 favourite posts have been :
Beautiful home of Jenna Lyons
If I lived in Paris...
Photographer Style : Ben Watts
A Great Coffee Table
Simply Elegant
The White House
Celebrity Home : Sofia Coppola
I thank you for reading my blog, I am truly honoured. I look forward to my second year of hopefully bringing you a finished house, a new change for me in the near future, some inspiration and a new little series I might ask some of you to help me with. Most of all I look forward to being able to meet more of you who share the same love of design.
