I know that most of you not living outside of Europe cannot watch our Home Makeover Show but I always post photos after airing night so here they are. This was a great special project that started the #21 season. As usual, the first program of each series has always sought an institution or a welfare project and this was one of those special ones!
This house is a 4 bedroom apartment, for the residence of young girls who are of legal age, and living on welfare in an institution for girls who lost their parents. These homes belong to a project called 'Casas da Ponte' (translation is Bridge Houses), because they are intended to serve as home for these young girls and make a 'bridge' to a normal life outside the institution.
The space was donated by the City Council to the institution, but it had no conditions to be inhabited. My project was a house with a neutral base and full of color touches, for 4 different girls with different tastes and favorite colors. I wanted a very, colorful fresh and very happy home for them.
This time we did the whole house in 5 days and here are the before and after photos of living room and entrance hall. I transformed the kitchen and one bedroom as an open plan living room, so that they could have more space.
Hope you enjoy it! This was a great challenge of destruction and construction for us, but one of those that fills our hearts! They absolutely loved it! And I'm pretty sure that revelation day, was one of the happiest days of these girls lives.

Bom dia a todos!Eu sei que estão ansiosos pelas fotos e muitos ainda nem viram o programa, mas não esqueçam que podem ver as repetições durante a semana e até sábado. Este foi um grande projecto especial que deu início à série #21 do Querido Mudei a Casa. Como vem a ser hábito, o primeiro programa de cada série, tem sempre como objectivo uma instituição e esta, era mesmo à nossa medida!
Integrada no projecto Casas da Ponte, trata-se de uma casa de 5 assoalhadas, que se destina à residência das jovens que já são maiores de idade, e que vivem na instituição há alguns anos. Estas casas têm como finalidade servir de lar a estas jovens e fazer a 'ponte' para a vida normal, fora da instituição. O espaço foi cedido pela Câmara Municipal à Instituição o Século, e estava sem as condições necessárias para ser habitado.
