A Frozen Christmas * Um Natal Gelado

By the time you read this post I will be arriving at the cold winter of Canada to be with my family, meet with some old friends and also to visit a new clients project I'll be working in 2014. I have three words for this TOO-MUCH-EXCITEMENT!!

I'll be posting almost everyday unless the hotel Internet decides to fail on me so keep in touch and I'll keep you posted on my tryp! This is going to be a lot of fun cause we don't have snow in Portugal!

Oh... and please, if you have any suggestions for things to do, places to visit, or restaurants around Toronto do please let me know!

Por altura em que estiverem a ler este post, eu já devo estar a caminho do frio Inverno Canadiano para passar o Natal com a minha família que vive em Toronto, rever alguns amigos de longa data e também visitar um novo projecto que vou fazer em 2014 - imaginem! Para tudo isto só tenho estas palavras.  Excitamento-em-doses-descontroladas!

Embora de férias prometo que vou estar por aqui quase todos os dias, a menos que a internet Canadiana me pregue alguma partida! 

Ah ... e por favor, se tiverem alguma sugestão de coisas para fazer, lugares para visitar, ou restaurantes nos arredores de Toronto, aceitam-se sugestões!

Afternoon Off With My Son * Tarde De Folga Com o Meu Filho

Dear Blogfriends,

I should first thank you so much for all the dear messages I got for my son's birthday. It was a very happy day for him because I decided to do something I never done before.

My husband and I took the afternoon off work to be with him so we dressed in Red (his favorite color), surprised him with a birthday cake at the school and then took him to the movies at four in the afternoon and dinner. He never said it but I think he was a bit sad that his birthday was a normal school day so I decided to turn it into a not so normal school day. 

I should probably say that I had never done it before not for his or my birthday but instead of feeling guilty for leaving work behind, I was surprised to realize that my workaholic self felt very proud for doing this! I do know that this was a day he will remember one day and that is more important that anything else. Right?!!

Queridos Blogamigos,
Antes de mais muito obrigada por todas as queridas mensagens que me enviaram no dia 23 pelo aniversário do meu filho. Foi um dia muito feliz para ele, porque decidi fazer algo que nunca tinha feito antes.

Meu marido e eu tirámos a tarde de folga para estar com ele vestimo-nos de encarnado (a sua cor favorita), e fomos até à escola com um bolo de aniversário surpresa e depois fomos ao cinema às quatro da tarde e jantar a seguir. Ele nunca disse mas eu acho que ele estava meio aborrecido pelo dia dos anos ser numa Segunda-Feira e num dia de escola normal, mas nós decidimos transformá-lo num dia diferente.

Devo confessar que que eu nunca tinha feito isto antes, nem pelo aniversário dele nem pelo meu! Mas em vez de me sentir culpada por deixar o trabalho para trás e tirar a tarde, acho que até fiquei surpreendida ao perceber que o meu Eu mais workaholic até ficou orgulhoso por ter conseguido esquecer o trabalho por umas horas, inteiramente dedicadas ao meu filho! Eu sei que este foi um dia que ele vai lembrar, e isso é mais importante do que qualquer outra coisa. Certo?!

And yes you can say he is a mama's boy!

My Christmas Eve - part I * A Minha Noite de Natal - parte I

Feeling very blessed to be surrounded by family and loved ones this holiday.  Part of our family went to spend the holidays far away with relatives so this year was my turn to host Christmas evening at our house. It was a nice warm Christmas eve with my son jumping around with Santa's arrival and adults laughing of course. 

It’s been a difficult year to everyone in this Country and I’m sure we’re all counting every single blessing in our lives.  

Here are some pictures of our Christmas decorations and of my son all happy with his dear cousins Francisca and Matilde. Poor only child calls them (the cousins) his  siblings. I tell him. They are your cousins dear... he answers in a very determined posture; they are my brothers and sisters end of conversation!...

Estou feliz e com um enorme sentimento de gratidão por ter passado este Natal em minha casa com  com a companhia da parte da família do Pedro. A outra parte da minha família foi passar o Natal longe, por isso este ano, em vez da casa do Tio, foi a minha vez de organizar a noite de Natal. Foi uma noite feliz em família, com o meu filho aos pulos ansioso pelo pai Natal, a fazer patetices daquelas que fazem sempre os adultos rir.

Tem sido um ano difícil para todos no nosso país mas estou certa que devemos estar felizes por todos os momentos de gratidão.

Aqui ficam algumas fotos das decorações da noite de Natal e do meu filho todo feliz com as primas Francisca e Matilde, na noite de Natal. Pobre filho único que diz que os primos são irmãos... E eu digo-lhe; filho as primas e o primo são teus primos, são filhos dos nossos irmãos, não são teus irmãos... e ele responde com a sua postura mais determinada; Não mãe! Eles são meus irmãos e acabou a conversa!...

My Valentines

I've been working in so many projects, and meetings and the new series of the tv show that some nights by the time I finish working on the computer, it's very late at night and time to go to bed... Sorry for being absent in the last 2 days but there is just too much stuff going on...

But today it's Valentines night and I'm not going to show you any pink, red or valentine's decor. I'm just going to share with you the dearest loves of my life my son and my husband.

Tenho estado tão ocupada com projectos, reuniões, novos desafios e a preparação da nova série do Querido, que quando termino as noites de trabalho no computador, já são horas de deitar. Perdão pela ausência dos últimos dias mas há demasiadas coisa a acontecer. 

Mas hoje não vos vou mostrar decorações em rosa ou encarnado ou inspiradas no S. Valentim apenas vos vou mostrar os maiores amores da minha vida.
