Trend alert - Black and white Sripes * Alerta Tendência - Riscas Em Preto e Branco

I hope you had a good weekend! Mine was too tiny! I had to go shopping for my son this weekend, and in every single store that we came in I was haunted by the attack of the black and white stripes! They were everywhere to torment me. I have a black & White crush you see so I had to forcefully grab my wallet real hard and run away from there or I would end up buying every single item. I came home and decided to go to the online stores. There they were, all over again! Okay I only bought a few but I very afraid to what can happened the rest of the week! What do you think of this trend? It is recurrent but undoubtedly timeless, in fashion and decor!

Espero que tenham tido um bom fim-de-semana! O meu foi pequeníssimo! Tive de ir às compras para o meu filho este fim-de-semana, mas em cada loja em que entrava era perseguida pelo ataque das riscas pretas e brancas! Estavam por todo o lado para me atormentar. Eu tenho um fraquinho pelas ditas e tive de me agarrar com força à carteira e fugir, senão comprava cada coisinha às riscas que me aparecia à frente. Devo estar com uma 'risquite' aguda! Vai daí uma pessoa refugia-se em casa e divaga nas lojas online e também lá estão elas, por todo o lado! O que é que acham desta tendência? É recorrente mas sem dúvida intemporal, na moda, e na decoração!

Horizontal or vertical stripes? * Riscas horizontais ou verticais?

Yesterday there was a big discussion in my office about vertical or horizontal stripes on the wall. You know how I am all about stripes!...

I'm working on a new project and I decided to use the wallpaper horizontally and as usual between my assistants (Bruno and Mariana) I get a thumb up and a thumb down. I love it because it always results on a large concept discussion about pros and cons of this and that. I have to confess I kind of like the fact that they don't always agree with each other. I always get a lot of constructive 'material' out of that!! I usually do what my gut tells me to and this time was no exception, but I thought it would be nice to know your opinion too. What do you think? would you use it as in one of the images? I definitely like the first image!

Ontem, no meu atelier houve um assunto muito falado entre mim e os meus assistentes sobre as riscas verticais ou horizontais, na parede. Vocês sabem o quanto eu adoro riscas!...

Bom, durante o processo criativo para um novo projecto, em que eu decidi colocar papel de riscas na horizontal, lá tive um voto a favor e um voto contra, coisa típica entre os meus assistentes que são de chorar a rir, porque se adoram mas estão sempre em desacordo! :)) Devo confessar que até gosto desta coisa de eles não estarem sempre de acordo porque acabo sempre por retirar 'material' interessante da discordância entre eles!! Aqui entre nós eu faço sempre o que o meu instinto me diz e desta vez não foi excepção, mas também gostava de saber a vossa opinião sobre o uso das riscas na horizontal numa divisão como estas, por exemplo... Gosto imenso da primeira!

 

Offcourse it's important to make a good choice about where to use this idea because they can hide flaws in your interior however they can also change the space perception. 

When used in two tones they can make your space look wider.

Claro que é importante escolher bem a parede e a divisão, para uma opção como esta porque

 pode esconder algumas falhas e também podem alterar a percepção do espaço.
Quando usado em dois tons pode fazer seu espaço ficar mais amplo.
