In Memoriam David Collins * Em Memória De David Collins

Today I was shocked to know about the death of one of my favorite interior designer, David Collins. His death was caused by complications from a virulent skin cancer, an illness that was diagnosed only three weeks ago.

"David's death is a real shock," said Vogue editorAlexandra Shulman. "As well as being responsible for designing many of the most influential London restaurants and bars of our age, he was a dear friend of many at Vogue. His work merged luxury, glamour and heritage in an inimitable fashion and his company was always of the first and most enjoyable order."

It was his use of color and the search of his right shade of blue that caught my eye first, but I was in love with every single work of his. I've posted David Collins's work many times and did a post about his work a few years ago (here) (here). Images from his projects are all over my computer folders. I remember dinning at Scarpeta, one of Fontainebleau's restaurants in Miami where I stayed last year, and sitting there admiring every detail of his design and paying much more attention than to the food itself. 

It's a sad day for interior design and I'm posting some of my favorite images of his work. All in the blue shades he loved.

Fiquei chocada ao saber da morte de um dos meus designers de interiores favoritos, David Collins. Sua morte foi causada por complicações de um cancro de pele virulenta, doença que lhe foi diagnosticada há apenas três semanas.

"A morte de David é um verdadeiro choque", disse a editora da Vogue Alexandra Shulman. "Além de ser responsável por projectar muitos dos restaurantes mais influentes de Londres e bares de nossa época, ele era um querido amigo de muitos na Vogue. Sua obra fundiu luxo, glamour e do património de uma forma inimitável. "

Foi o seu uso da cor e da busca do perfeito tom de azul que captou inicialmente a minha atenção, nas imagens do seu trabalho, mas logo a seguir tornei-me fã de todos os seus trabalhos. Fiz em tempos um post (aqui) (aqui), sobre ele, e devo dizer-vos que as imagens de seus projetos estão por todas as pastas de 'favoritos' do meu computador.

Tive a oportunidade de jantar num dos restaurantes cujo o projecto era do David Collins, o Scarpeta, um dos restaurantes do Fontainebleau, em Miami, onde eu fiquei no ano passado. Lembro-me de ter ficado sentada a admirar o seu trabalho, bem mais do que me interessar pela comida!

É um dia triste para o design de interiores, e o seu nome não será esquecido com todo o seu maravilhoso portfolio.  Em sua homenagem aqui ficam algumas imagens do seu trabalho, todas nos tons de azul que ele amava.

Design and Talent - Design e Talento

As my blog friends already know, shades of Blue and Gray are definitely on my top ten favorite shades, and each time I find a picture like this one I can't wait to find out who is behind this talent. When I saw this picture I kept it in my favorites because I loved every part of the dining room, the wooden structure of the roof-beautiful, the lamp - the part that makes the difference, the table - superb, the chairs - my passion! The blue celadon walls - make me feel at peace, the white rug - the unique touch, the capitonet sofa- the feminine element.

I was glad when I finally discovered thru The Decorista Blog, the responsible for all these elegant, feminine and sophisticated spaces, she is called Tiffany Eastman, and lives in Connecticut and you can check out her portfolio here.

Como as minhas amigas do blog sabem, os tons de Azul e Cinza estão sem dúvida no top ten dos meus tons favoritos e cada vez que encontro uma imagem como esta não descanso enquanto não descubro a artista por detrás deste talento. Quando vi esta foto guardei-a nos meus favoritos porque adorei cada peça desta sala de jantar; a estrutura de madeira do tecto-linda, o candeeiro - a peça que faz a diferença, a mesa - soberba, as cadeiras - adoro de paixão e mais ainda com o estofo neste azul! O azul celadon das paredes - faz-me sentir em paz, o tapete branco - o toque original e que desconstrói a forma do espaço,  o sofá em capitonet - o elemento feminino que adoro.

Fiquei contente quando finalmente descobri através de um dos meus blogues favoritos - The Decorista, a responsável por todos estes espaços elegantes, femininos, e sofisticados, chama-se Tiffany Eastman, é americana e vive em Conneticut e podem ver o portfolio dela aqui.
