Gustavian Style in Sweden

Good morning, my friends! My husband and I are leaving for the USA tonight. I'll be away until next Sunday. I don't think I'll be able to post during my trip. I promise I will try.

This house in northern Sweden, built 150 years ago had been empty for almost 40 years because 15 cousins could not agree what to do with it. Fortunately they finally sold it and this is what it looks like now.

Former Bakery in Sweden

Good morning my friends. Had a good weekend? We went to the beach yesterday and saw 4 or 5 dolphins playing and jumping in the sea. So lovely!
And, here were are again, having a look at this sweet home in Lundsbrunn, Sweden. It is 100 years old and used to be a bakery. These photographs mostly show different nooks and corners of the house rather than the whole rooms.

Swedish Style Home

A soft palette of creams and whites dominates this Swedish home. The rooms seem to blend into each other with raw floor boards, a mix of Gustavian style and modern furniture, flea market finds and antiques.




The only room without wooden flooring. Checkered white and grey tiles for the entrance hall floor.




A typical white Swedish stove - called kakelugn, stands in the corner of the living room. Gustavian chair.


Upholstered with different fabrics, two Gustavian chairs by a distressed painted desk.

Vintage Marais style metal chairs in the dining room.


Small trumeau by the windows in the master bedroom. The bed seems to be sagging in the middle.
