Now isn't this a dream mini studio?! It's lovely and it made me travel thru time to the memories of my first house...
I was nineteen years old when I started working as an assistant tv producer, I didn't have much money but I rented a small house pretty much like this one in Monte Estoril. It had a a lot of potential but it was dark and ugly... with a horrible curtains, a sofa with a 3 generations of grandparents with horrible dark red flowers and ugly floors!
At the time, I wish I had had the budget to turn it into something like this... Well I tried and I did not do too bad. I'm pretty sure that my interior decorating skills started there because, I developed an aversion to dark and ugly houses, dark curtains that do not let the light in and dark red flowers. It was also thanks to that place that I developed some skills with a paint can in my hands and that I realized the potential of a white blanket and colorful cushions, on top of a couch... We are talking about twenty years ago, when there was no Ikea furniture stores around and in this country they only sold furniture that was bought in 10 payment deals...

Maybe it was the best creative chalenge that made me who I am in my work. Today is so much easier with so many affordable shops and so much information, it is no longer acceptable to let your house to look awfully outdated and not to take care of it with a piece of fabric or a wallpaper to decorate your wall.
I do think it's all a matter of priorities, and if the place where we live is not a priority... then you should probably think a little more ...

Digam lá, que este não é o verdadeiro mini estúdio de sonho?! É lindo e fez-me viajar nas memórias da minha primeira casa...
Tinha eu dezanove anos quando comecei a trabalhar em televisão e aluguei uma casa no Monte Estoril exactamente do tamanho desta. Tinha uma estrutura com muito potencial mas era escura e feia... com uns cortinados horríveis, um sofá com umas 3 gerações de avós com horríveis flores bordeaux!
Na altura, quem me dera ter tido orçamento para a transformar em algo assim... Bem que tentei e não me saí muito mal pois deve ter sido por causa daquela casa, que eu desenvolvi uma aversão a casas escuras e feias, cortinados escuros que não deixam entrar luz e a bordeaux. E foi também graças a ela que me aventurei a transformar peças com uma lata de tinta, a perceber o potencial de uma manta branca e umas almofadas coloridas, em cima de um sofá... Estamos a falar de há 20anos atrás, numa altura em que não existia o Ikea e as lojas de móveis vendiam apenas mobílias completas que se compravam a prestações durante alguns anos...Talvez tenha sido um bom estímulo criativo. Hoje é tão mais fácil com tantas lojas acessíveis e tanta informação à nossa disposição, que não é mais aceitável deitar as mão à obra e fazer alguma coisa ao sofá horrível e datado e a uma divisão que ganha vida com um papel de parede.
Olhem à vossa volta, e pensem que é tudo uma questão de prioridades, e se o sítio onde vivemos com a nossa família não é uma prioridade... então se calhar devemos pensar um pouco mais... A nossa vida é tão mais bonita se nos rodearmos de coisas bonitas e um ambiente agradável.
