The Champ d'Or Auction Set and Ready for March 30th - Will We See a Buyer?

The 48,000 sq. foot Champ d'Or mansion is set and ready for auction at the end of this month on March 30th.  Right off I35E between Denton and Dallas, the immaculate chateau has attracted eyes from all across the world. The Goldfields built their "Field of Gold" (accurately Champ d'Or in French) in 2002 and quickly realized the manse was a little too big for their comfort.  After fluctuating on the market for 8 years now, the residence is finally headed to the auction table.

Of course, the market for a home of this magnitude is very narrow; only 5 to 10 bidders are expected.  All bidders must put down a $250,000 deposit in order to get some bidding action.  The minimum bid is $10.3 million dollars, nearly $24.7 million lower than the current listing price of $35 million.  The $10.3 million minimum bid is also $61.7 million lower than the highest listing price in the past 8 years of $72 million.

Best of luck to those (if reading) bidding on Friday the 30th.
