Community Showcase - Preston Hollow in north Dallas, Texas

Undoubtedly, the exclusive and nationally known community of Preston Hollow in north Dallas is home to numerous celebrities, big D businessmen and women, and all-around affluent residents.  Preston Hollow is situated near the Park Cities, Highland and University Parks.  The tightly-knit community is known for its creeks and heavily wooded lots.  Residents of Preston Hollow, as well as fans of the neighborhood, often refer to parts of Preston Hollow as Old Preston Hollow and New Preston Hollow.

Preston Hollow, along with the Park Cities, is the epicenter of celebrity and luxury real estate in north Texas.  In fact, without Highland Park, University Park, and Preston Hollow, real estate in north Texas would be dull.  Not only is Preston Hollow home to recent celebrities and billionaires, but "old" ones as well.  Some celebrities and influential residents include Ross Perot, former Presidential candidate, Roger Staubach, former Dallas Cowboy, Harold Simmons, billionaire investor, T. Boone Pickens, energy mogul and billionaire, the late Mary Ash Kay, founder of cosmetic company Mary Kay, former Dallas mayor Laura Miller with her former Texas Representative husband Steve Wolens, a multitude of sports athletes, Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, former President George W. Bush, and more.  Most residents of Preston Hollow as well as the Park Cities are very well-off executives, CEO's, investors, inventors, and other business-types who look for a tranquil place to raise a family close to work.

The one thing I love about Preston Hollow is the availability to actually view some of these surreal homes!  Indeed, most streets of Preston Hollow are "open for the public", if you will.  I must say, I'm guilty - I've been up to Preston Hollow several times simply to drive through streets, like Rockbrook and Strait Lane (also known as Billionaire's Row).  If you are a real estate enthusiast, no doubt you have driven the landscape lined streets of Preston Hollow - if you haven't, you need to.  I took a "trip" last December to check on constructions I was following as well as new real estate properties.

Aside from the real estate, it seems like a fantastic place to grow a family.  Although I cannot speak for the community since I do not reside there (YET!), from what I can tell and who I've talked to, its a great place community!
