Hot off the presses from the always informative Lauren Beale at LA Times Hot Property is a brand new listing from Shirley Jones of "The Partridge Family" along with her husband, comedian Marty Ingels, in Encino for $2.1 million on December 17, 2012.
Jones has been active in TV, Movies, and on stage since 1953. She has accomplished a lot and has essentially become a legend in the industry. Her success has spread to her children with Jack Cassidy, with whom she had three sons, Shaun (former home was in Hidden Hills), Patrick, and Ryan. David Cassidy is her step-son. To learn more about Shirley Jones, I recommend visiting her Wikipedia page and personal website.
Back to the Encino home which measures 4 Beds/6 Baths on 5,406 sqft on a total lot size of 0.71 acres built in 1957. According the listing:
Private, South of the Blvd. Estate! Located on a private road at the end of a long gated driveway on a 30,000 sq. ft. lot surrounded by park like grounds, waterfalls, cobblestone, and greenery. Entertaining pool area with built in bbq and waterslide that you can see and access throughout the home. Home features en suite bedrooms, an office, game room, living room, formal dining room, 2 family rooms with fireplace and two separate second floor suites for a maid's quarters, in-law suite, man cave, or teenage getaway located at each end of the home. One bedroom has a fireplace and leads to patio overlooking the pool. Another bedroom leads to a private patio overlooking a waterfall and creek. Chef's eat in kitchen features skylights and top of the line appliances. Two oversized garages. Amenities are overflowing on this very quiet and private estate yet one block of everything the Blvd has to offer!
Jones last purchased this home on September 13, 2001 for $1.2 million which if sold at the current listing price translates into a decent $900,000 gain before taxes, commissions, carrying costs, and renovation expenses.
Prior to the Encino home, Jones lived for close to 40 years in a Beverly Hills home (image below, according to a March 4, 2000 TV Guide article) measuring 6 Beds/8 Baths on 6,017 sqft on a total lot size of 0.42 acres built in 1950 according to the Movieland Directory (which also includes other residences). Jones sold this home on August 30, 2001 for an unknown amount but probably somewhere in the $2 - 3 million range.
Jones and Ingels next move is not known but its possible that they also own or rent a 2 Bed North Hollywood home that they could possibly be downsizing to but I am not 100% certain so dont quote me here.
